It's CHINATI, not chianti

Spent the day in Donald Judd Fantasy Land, a.k.a. the Chinati Foundation and the Judd Foundation. What I'm taking from the experience, in addition to a new appreciation for Dan Flavin's work and expanding love of Judd's, is a strong sense that this was a man with a challenging personality. (Or maybe a super control freak.) Regardless, it's clear he was a man with a strong vision and the means to realize it. Everything he touched seemed to have turned out beautiful (if spartan) and his eye for materials was pretty much infallible.
